The Short Answer

MUSE cell therapy is not widely available in the United States. Most regenerative medicine clinics offer standard mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) — which are scientifically different from MUSE cells. Genuine MUSE cell therapy requires a specific sourcing and handling process, and very few clinics have established the protocols to offer it correctly.

The Stem Cell Club is one of the few clinics in the US actively offering MUSE cell therapy, with locations in St. George, Utah and Las Vegas, Nevada. All treatments are supervised by Andrea Montana, MSN, APRN, our Medical Director. Learn more about the science behind MUSE cells →

Why It Matters

Why Is MUSE Stem Cell Therapy So Hard to Find?

MUSE cells are fundamentally different from the stem cells most clinics offer. Understanding why they’re rare helps you evaluate any provider claiming to offer them.

They’re a Subpopulation, Not a Standard Product

MUSE cells make up only about 1–3% of conventional MSC cultures. Isolating and preparing them for clinical use requires specialized knowledge and sourcing — most clinics simply don’t have access to verified MUSE cell preparations.

Most Research Has Been Conducted in Japan

The majority of MUSE cell science and clinical trials originated in Japan, which leads the world in MUSE cell research and regulatory approval. US clinical adoption is still early-stage, limiting the number of providers who’ve built protocols around authentic MUSE cells.

The Science Behind Them Is More Complex

MUSE cells are naturally pluripotent and use the S1P signaling pathway to actively home to sites of tissue damage — a behavior that requires specific conditions to preserve during preparation and infusion. This isn’t plug-and-play; it takes clinical expertise to do correctly.

Many “Stem Cell” Clinics Aren’t Offering MUSE Cells

The regenerative medicine market is full of clinics selling various types of “stem cells” — most are standard MSCs, exosomes, or PRP. When evaluating any clinic, ask specifically about MUSE cell sourcing, preparation, and clinical protocol.

Due Diligence

What to Look for in a MUSE Stem Cell Provider

Before committing to any clinic offering MUSE cell therapy, ask these questions. A reputable provider will have clear answers to all of them.

Licensed Medical Supervision

All treatments should be supervised by a licensed APRN, NP, or physician — not administered by wellness staff alone.

Transparent Pricing

Reputable clinics publish their pricing or disclose it clearly before consultation. Walk away from vague “packages” revealed only under pressure.

Verified Cell Sourcing

Ask where the MUSE cells originate and how they’re prepared. Umbilical cord-derived preparations (Wharton’s Jelly MSC subpopulations) are the current clinical standard.

No Guaranteed Outcomes

Any clinic that “guarantees” results from stem cell therapy is violating FTC guidelines and likely misrepresenting the science. Honest clinics will tell you what to realistically expect.

Clear Clinical Protocol

MUSE cell infusion follows a specific protocol — IV administration, specific dosing, post-infusion monitoring. Ask about their process before you book.

Honest Conversations About Fit

The right clinic will tell you if MUSE cell therapy isn’t a good fit for your condition — and suggest alternatives, including doing nothing, if that’s appropriate.

How We Compare

The Stem Cell Club vs. Typical Clinic Options

Most clinics charging $10,000–$25,000 for “stem cells” are offering standard MSC therapy — without MUSE cells, without price transparency, and without the science to back up their claims. See our full pricing breakdown →

Common Questions

MUSE Stem Cell Therapy FAQ

Yes. Many of our MUSE therapy patients travel from out of state. We can complete your pre-consultation via telehealth at our QualiPhy platform, and the treatment itself takes only 15–30 minutes at our St. George or Las Vegas clinic. Most patients arrange a same-day or next-day return trip. Contact us and we’ll help coordinate timing.
No — and this distinction matters. MUSE cells are a rare subpopulation found within MSC cultures, representing only 1–3% of cells in standard preparations. They are naturally pluripotent (able to differentiate into any cell type), actively home to sites of tissue damage via the S1P signaling pathway, and have demonstrated no tumor formation across all published studies. Standard MSC therapy works primarily through paracrine signaling and is multipotent, not pluripotent. Most clinics offer MSCs; very few offer authenticated MUSE cell preparations.
MUSE cell therapy pricing is provided during consultation and is based on the specific protocol recommended for your case. For context, our standard APEX™ IV MSC therapy starts at $1,999 (promotional) and our APEX™ MUSE combination protocols typically begin at approximately $2,999. We always disclose the exact price before you commit to anything — no surprises, no pressure.
MUSE cell therapy remains investigational in the United States. No MUSE cell product has received full FDA marketing authorization as of this writing, though multiple Phase II clinical trials have been completed in Japan and globally with strong safety data. The Stem Cell Club offers MUSE cell therapy as part of our regenerative medicine practice, administered under clinical supervision by a licensed APRN.
Published clinical trials have studied MUSE cells across seven conditions: acute myocardial infarction (heart attack), ischemic stroke, ALS, epidermolysis bullosa, cervical spinal cord injury, neonatal brain injury, and graft-versus-host disease. Preclinical research also shows potential in liver cirrhosis, chronic kidney disease, pulmonary fibrosis, and musculoskeletal applications. During your consultation, we’ll honestly assess whether your situation falls within the range of available evidence.
No. One of MUSE cells’ most clinically significant properties is their high expression of HLA-G — approximately 90%, compared to less than 20% in standard MSCs. HLA-G inhibits NK cells and cytotoxic T-cell activation, allowing donor-derived MUSE cells to be used without HLA matching and without immunosuppressive drugs. In clinical trials, donor MUSE cells have survived in recipient tissue for up to six months without rejection.
Be cautious of: clinics that won’t disclose pricing until you’re in a high-pressure consultation; providers that “guarantee” results; vague cell sourcing descriptions; exaggerated claims about conditions that lack clinical evidence; and any clinic charging $20,000+ for therapy that identical science supports delivering for a fraction of that cost. The science behind MUSE cells is real — but the marketing around stem cell therapy is often not.
