How to Choose a Stem Cell Clinic
The stem cell industry has excellent providers — and predatory ones. Here are 9 things every patient should verify before committing.
What You Need to Know
Honest, clinically accurate information organized around what patients ask us most.
Published Transparent Pricing
A trustworthy clinic publishes its price — or tells you immediately when asked without requiring a paid consultation. If pricing requires a sales call to discover, that's a red flag.
Licensed Clinical Provider
Verify the license of the person administering your treatment. MD, DO, or licensed APRN with appropriate authority. Ask for their license number and verify it.
Accredited Cell Sourcing
Ask where the biological material comes from. It should be from an FDA-registered U.S. tissue bank. Avoid clinics that won't disclose sourcing or claim "proprietary" cells.
No Guaranteed Outcome Claims
Legitimate clinics do not guarantee specific outcomes. If a clinic promises you will be pain-free or claims a specific success percentage, be skeptical.
No High-Pressure Sales Tactics
One consultation should be enough. If a clinic follows up repeatedly, uses urgency tactics ("this price expires today"), or discounts heavily under pressure — walk away.
Clear Treatment Documentation
You should receive full documentation of the biological product used — lot number, sourcing, testing results. If a clinic won't provide this, ask why.
Post-Treatment Follow-Up Included
Legitimate clinics include follow-up in the treatment price. If follow-up appointments are additional charges, factor that into the true total cost.
Realistic Candidacy Assessment
A good clinic will tell you if you're not a good candidate — even if it means losing the business. If every patient is told they're an ideal candidate, that's a red flag.
Verifiable Reviews & Track Record
Look for independent reviews, not just testimonials on the clinic's own website. Ask how long they've been operating and whether you can speak with previous patients.
